PONGAROA.

At the monthly meeting of the Akitio County Council, held at Pougaroa on Saturday last, the chairman (Mr J. W. Murray) was appointed a delegate from the Council to visit Wellington with a deputation from the Masterton-Waipuku-rau railway league. This deputation is to wait upon the Prime Minister with a view of furthering matters in connection with the proposed railway. On the 22hd inst. the Rev. L. Thompson and Rev. C.
