SMALL CRAZING RUNS.
The Mauricoville County Council lias requested the Prime Minister to amend the law which practically exempts all small grazing runs from local rates. In the North Island these runs are surrounded by svetions of similar areas, the occupiers of which have to find the to make and maintain the roads piv- i ing access to small runs. It !s )iu,]i time that the rateable values were made uniform. Possibly if othtr County Councils were to support tlie protest of Mauriceville, an anaoncU ment of the law would be assured.
