THE SHEARERS' AWARD.

The award of the Arbitration Court. fixes the minimum price for mach-ine-shearing at 19s 6d. The shearers, however, have declared that they will not accept less than £1 per hundred. The question arises, will the shearers go to work in those districts where owners are not prepared; to pay more than the award wage? If they are well-advised, they will. The only alternative to abiding by the award is to disband the Union. Unless this is done, it will be. a penal offence for agitators and others to recommend men not to go to work, at less than £l. ! Events have now assumed a decidedly interesting form.
