WITHIN THE EMPIRE. ! Received Last Night, 10.30 o'clock. OTTAWA September 23. The Manufacturers' Convention has resolved in favour of reciprocal preferential trade within the Empire, thereby freeing it from dependence for its food supply apoa foreign countries. In anticipation "of changes m the Aistralian tariff, the Convention asked that trie -Dominion Government arrange for preferential Customs duties with the Commonwealth. No decision was reached on the question of reciprocity with the United Statee.
