AMUSEMENTS.

1 VALDARES' ENTERTAINERS. As this clever combination is fixed to open here on Tuesday next, the following, from a contemporary, will give intending patrons anidea of the fare to be presented:—The Valdares Entertainers, who appeared at the Opera House last evening, gave one of the best variety shows we have ' had. It is a clever combination all round, with the Valdares as strong leaders. Fred Foley opened with a great display of magic and illusions. This was followed by the Varno Sisters and James Titus in a sketch entitled "McCann's Troubles," which bristled with amusing features. Reggiardo's juggling was another fine exhibition, some of Cinquevalli's most difficult feats being performed. The most fascinating part of Reggiardo's turn, however, was, provided by his beautiful white French poodle. No' animal could have been more human-like or intelligent than this curly-coated canine The last and most striking feature of the entertainment was the marvellous trick bicycle riding by the Valdares. The hearts of the audience were continually "in their mouths" as one risky feat succeeded another. The machines were propelled by ( every imaginable part of the body: head, hand, elbow, shoulder, etc. At one time three persons seated on each other's shoulders were pedalling round the stage . To ride on one wheel was a matter of no apparent difficulty, and climbing almost in and out of the spokes of the wheels never disturbed the equilibrium. '
