EFFECTS OF SOCIALISM.

A cablegram received yesterday stated that there had been an enormous decline in the consumption of spirits in Germany. This was attributed to the fact that the Socialists had boycotted spirits in order to hit the landowners who supplied the material for the manufacture of schnapps. This is carrying the Socialistic creed just a little too far. The next thing that will probably happen win be that the Socialists will boycott meat, and bread, and milk, and a great many similar things which are products of the farm. There is no knowing where the thing will end.
