THE GAMING BILL.
The Prime Minister has given notice of his intention to introduce the Gaming Act Amendment 'Bill, which is reported to contain several important provisions affecting the racing clubs of the Dominion. . The Bill, according to Sir Joseph Ward, will be brought down when the author feels disposed. In the meantime there is absolutely no indication of what the measure contains, and those whom it is designed; to affect are naturally on tenterhooks. The Prime Minister may have very good reason for keeping the contents of the Bill a profound secret. It is hardly fair to the public, however, and particularly to that section interested in sport, that such a secrecy should be observed.
