MASTERTON DORCAS SOCIETY.

PRESENTATION TO VICE-PRESI-DENT.

A very pleasing ceremony took place at the fortnightly meeting of the MastertDn Dorcas Society, held in Mr James McGregor's cottage in Church Street, when Mrs Exell, Vice-President of the Society, was made the recipient of a handsome eiderdown quilt, in recognition of her long and valued services. Mrs Jas. McGregor, in making the presentation on behalf of Mrs Maun--Bell, President, ai.d the members of the Society, drew attention to the fact that Mrs Exell had been connected with [theJDorcas Society fur nineteen years) having had for the last ten years the oversight of the affairs of the Society. In a fewgwell-chosen words, Mrs Maunseli also referred to theffaighly capable manner in which Mrs Exell had always carried out the various daties pertaining to her office. Mrs Exell responded in suitable terms, thanking the members for the gift, and for the kindly sentiments which had been expressed. A dainty afternoon tea was provided by the President, Mrs Maunseli.
