PERSONAL.
The Hon. A. Ngata left Wellington yesterday morning for Rotorua, on business connected with native land purchase transactions. The many friends of the Rev. W. Raine, of Masterton, will regret to hear that he is at present laid aside with a very severe attack of influenza.
Mr Robert Russell, who has acted as secretary for the Drivers' Union •since its formation in Masterton some three years ago, was presented last night by the members with a very handsome gold chain and medal, the latter bearing the inscription : "Presented to Secretary R. Russell by the members of the Drivers' Union, Ist September, 1910."
