ANNUAL MEETING. * r ' The annual meeting of the members of tbe Opaki Rifle Club was held last evening in Messrs Kin? and Henry's rooms. Captain W. J. Welch presiding. There were also present Messrs H. Evanv A. Lewin, C. G. Monro, J. Sutheiland, B. C, Jones/ R. J. King. J. Murray. A. Matthews, G. Blane, J. Dagg and T. Evans. The annual report and balancesheet, which is published elsewhere, was read. 9 Captain Welch, in moving tbe adaption, congratulated the members on the very successful year's shooting. Officers for the ensuing year were elected as follows:—Patron, Mr A. W. Hogg, M.P.; President, Mr ti. G. Williams; Vice-Presidents, Messrs H. Holmes, D. McGregor, W. G. Beard, J. D. Cruicksbank, J. C. Jones, H. A. Joaas and H. R. King. j. The Chairman welcomed Mr IJ. C. Jones as a member of the Club, stating that he had manytimes shot with him and had always found him a thoroughly good sport and rifleman. It was decided that the Club should purchase a rifle for the use of members. The official opening day was fixed for October 20th, the day of the North Wairarapa Rifle Association's maetirjg.
