CONNECTION OF DRAINS.
BOROUGH COUNCIL'S POWERS.
The Mayor of B/lasterton, Mr J. M. I Coradine, yesterday addressed the following letter to the editor of the Age:—"Sir,—l am glad to say that a closer scrutiny of the Acts reveal that the Borough Council has power to construct drains upon private property, and take payment of its costs by instalments. This view is supported by the opinion of the Borough Solicitor, and the Council will, where necessary, act upon the power if the scheme ib carried at the poll."
