Lieutenant-Colonel Knight gave a very interesting address in the Solvation Army Barracks on Aioni:»y evening, on his travels through the Dutch East Indies. There was a very -large attendance, Mr J. A. Dudson, Mayor, presiding. Colonel Knight dealt with his subject it a Very fluent manner, and bhe sddress was appreciated by all. luring his brief stay here, the Colonel was the guest of the Rev. JL. Thompson, of St. Andrew s Mjoise. It [J stated that eai-Iy lambs ari plentiful in the district this scasin, and Mr C. Wallis, P.A., presided at the fortnightly meeting of the Druids' Lodge on Monday evening, when one friend was admitted a member by initiation, and a member was admitted by clearance from the Palmerston North Lodge.
