Great interest is being taken in tiid sKatiiig carnival to be held in tiie lowa Hall this month. Lord and Lady Islington, and ciieir daughter, Hon. Joan Dicksonioyncier, paid their first visit to Jeataerstoa oa Saturday. Though there war ,10 official reception a' good number of townspeople arseinbled at tiie railway station. It is reported that Lady Islington, was very pleased with "Longwood," and no doubt we shall see a good deal of her.
A quiet wedding took place on Monday at the residence of Mr C F. Goodrick, South Featherstoa] when his daughter, Isabella Violet, was married to Mr A. F. Simmonds, eldest son of Mr A. Simmonds. Miss Rose Goodrick, sister of the bride, was bridesmaid, and Mr C. Skipage was best man.
