EKETAHTJNA STOCK SALE.
Messrs Dalgetv and Co., Ltd., re- ■ port havi'vj; ueld their usual fortnightly at Eketahuna on Friday, :! >d September. Owing to the rough wt-ather we liad only a fair I yarding of sheep, which sold well under thehammer. The cattle pens were well fifled, but consisted chiefly of dairy stock, and we found old dairy cows and heifers in backward condition hard to quit. We quote : —Sheep : Hoggets, from 10s 2d to 12s 7d; f.m. ewes in lamb, 6s 6d 6s lOd, to 7s. Cattle: Two-year steers, £3 17s 6d to £4 ss; empty heifers, £2 17s 6d, £3 10s to £3 15s ; springing heifers, £4 15s, £5, £5 7s 6d to £5 15s; dairy cows, poor scrts, £4 10s to £5 8s 6d; cows and -calves, £2 17s 6d to £3 ss.
