CARTERTON.
Cheese making operations comme ca a he Carrington Factory on Monday next. The promoters of the recent lachelorb ba 1 at Parkvale have donated £2 6s to the funds of the Park-Vi-ls Hall Society. Mr Wenze H. Collie, organist of St. Thomas' Churcb, Wellington, is to give an organ recital here on Tuesday evening next. At lha fli etbodist Schoolroom on Thursday evening a farewell social wan tendered to Miss Andrews, who is leaving to take up her residence in Wellington. During the proceedings Mies Andrews whs presented with a handsome gold bracelet, electroplated flower stanc", snd a silver pin tray. Her Sunday school scholars presented her with the last item. On Monday evening next Lieuten-ant-Colonel Knight, of the Salvation Army, is to give an address here,
The Catholic concert held here on Thursday evening was a great success, thtire being a very large attendance. All the v items were well received, encores being frequent. Mr McKechnie, champion club swinger ot the North Island, gave a splendid exhibition of club swinging. A dance followed the concert part of the entertainment, which added to the pleasure of the function.
