The colt Marshall Knight has been leased by Mr J. J. Jackson to Mr W. Traill. Nero, who has been in K. rett's charge since he went lame at Riccarton, has been returned to his
owner Horses well backed in Christchurch last week for the New Zealand Cup are California, Coronetted, Polymorphous, Advocate and Diabolo. Armamento was sold last week in Christchurch for £36. It is intendeo to send le Arai over to Australia snortly to take part in steeplechase events there. Wooloomooloo, Bulworth and Seatondale have been shipped from Auckland to Sydney. J. Cameron has exchanged Kaitere for a juvenile thoroughbred, and the former is to be used as a lady's back. Mukipie has been doing fast work at. Hastings, and will be running at the Horowhenua meeting this week. The Wairarapa owned mare, San Lass, has again been put into work at Awapuni. Woolongong, a full brother to Nero, has been schooled over hurdles at Hastings. Nominations for the Lower Valley meeting close at Martinhorough tomorrow night. The . Wanganui trained horses, Roosevelt and John, which are engaged in the New Zealand Cup, are both doing satisfactory work. The first named wil run at Levin this week, but may not be sufficiently forward to score a win. , The Auckland colt, Ashby, is not being hurried in his work, and may not be raced for several months. v Gold Circle, a full sister toxoid Thread, is doing pleasing work on the Napier Park tracks. An offer of 400 guineas for Trugai nini has been refused.
