By Telegraph—Special Reporter. NELSON, Last Night. The Ladies' Championship jockey Tourney commenced f i-day in fine weather. The result) were: Auckland 2 v. Wellington B 0. Wairarapa 1 v. Wanganui 1. Greyniouth 0 v. Taranaki 0. Hawke'a Bay 3 v. Otago 0. Nelson 3 v. Westport 0.

In the Wairarapa match, Wanganui opened with a forward rush, headed by Miss Perrott, to Wairarapa circle, but a comer hit relieved. Wanganui for a few minutes kept Wairarapa penned on the line, and then Miss Reid dribbled down the field and passed right across to tte opposite wing, who carried play irtq Wanganui's 25, Miss Collier saving. Wairarapa pressed, and Miss Davis saved, a score being narrowly averted. Wanganui forwards took play to the centre of the field, but Miss Chapman drove well back, and the forwards taking the ball on, Mies A. O'Leary scored with a fine hit.

Wairarapa 1 Wanganui 0 Wairarapa continued to press, but spoiled their chances to score by hard hitting, and a good hit by Miss Collier took play to Wairarapa quarters, and Miss Perrett hit into the circle, but a bard hit to touch relieved. Wanganui attacked, but Miss Terry stopped well and hit down to Wanganui's 25. Miss Collier again came to the rescue, and play was taken to the Wairarapa circle, where Miss Perrett nearly scored. At half time Wairarapa were attacking. On resuming, Wairarapa attacked, Miss Z. Humphries hitting to centre, but the ball went over the line. A forward rush put Wairarapa on the defence, the goalkeeper saving. Wairarapa returned to the attack, Miss Collier saving splendidly. A prominent rush by Wanganui put,] Wairarapa on the defence, and Miss Collier passed to Miss Perrett, who scored with a good hit. Wairarapa then livened up, and fast play up and down the field followed. Although both sides struggled hard to gain the advantage, no further scores were added, the game euding in a draw —a goal each.
