TURF NOTES.
(By "Zetland.")
All the boxes at J. Cress' stables at LansdoWne are now occupied, but this does not mean that more 4 horse3 cannot be taken for training purposes, as stable accommodation near by is obtainable. The Kilcheran filly, Kiltie Lass, has thickened out considerably since she raced at Easter, and is ready to undergo a preparation; Gaelic has been kept up to the collar since the Wellington meeting, and has done a fair amount of schooling over obstacles. He leaves for Levin about the middle of the week to take part in the meeting there on Friday. The next compartment is occupied by Pukewai. The Waiuku colt was blistered early in the winter, and his fore limbs have fined down very well. He is eas? horse to train, but when he does strike form can gallop fast, The Soult gelding, Airowell, has famished nicely during the winter and is do ing satisfactory track work. He will probably be raced at the Lower Valley meeting next month. Te Utuatu has been following the hounds at the Hunt Club meets, and will be a contestant a* the meeting on the Clareville course this week. Lady Volley will be ready to race at spring meetings. The latest addition to the team is Moloch, who arrived from Trentham on Wednesday. He has not done I much in the way of work snee the ; Wellington fixture last month, but I will soon be moved along on" the jOpaki tracks, and perhaps be ready for the Masterton and Taratahi meetings.
