"Mr W. G. Taylor, M.R.G.V.S., of the Agricultural Department, gave a very interesting address before a number of Maaterton farmers on Saturday evening on the subject of 'The Boise.' Mr Taylor dealt with the various forms of disease which affect the horse, referring more particularly to the different forms of lameness, splint, ringbone, etc. He urged that greater care should be taken in the management of horses than was usually the case in New Zealand. When a horse was heated, after work, he should be stabled and rugged, and not turned out as waa usually the case. He explained that the best treatment for a spra'ned tendon was to apply a 1 ght; linen bandage immersed in cold There was, he said, no cur- far ringbone.
