The Times' Copenhagen corespond* «it reports that the ' International Transport Workers' Federation has unanimously agreed upon an international shipping strike, because the owners refused to discuss the proposals of the European Seamen's Unions for the establishment of a Conciliation Board.
The date of the commencement of ,he strike is being kept a secret. . The decision has come as a great
surprise. The strike will affect 135,000 sailors and firemen, including 70,000 Britishers. Many of the newspapers consider that the Copenhagen report is premature, and that it has been furnished by interested parties.
