(Received Last. Night, 5.5 o'clock.) LONDON, August 27.
Gray, hte young Australian billiardist, (who recently visited New Zealand),is giving Nelson 2500 points in a game of 9000. He will meet Giggles on even terms. Inman refuses to play unless Gray accepts a start.
After playing in London, Gray will probably visit India with John Roberts, who has engaged him for two seasons. The "Sportsman" says that the attention of billiardists is now focussed on the long hazard, which has marvellous possibilities. Gray is inducing British players to disregard the top-of-the-table fetish.
