HORSES POISONED.
INLXHE MIKI MIKI DISTRICT
Several horses belonging to Mr Preston, Miki M.iki, near Masterton, cultivated symptoms of poisoning on Saturday last, and, in spite of prompt treatment, one valuable animal succumbed. Mr Taylor, M.R.C.V.S., who arrived in Masterton by the evening train, was sent for, and he administered emetics to, the surviving horses. It is believed that the animals were poisoned ing a certain weed which is tone found in some parts of the district.
