WEATHER FORECAST.

' Rev. D. G. • Bates' summary and forecast states that (here was a heavy fall ,of snow in the South Island last night,- and •» southerly gale reached Wellington at 5 a.m,. when, the lowest pressure of the barometer,' 28.95 inches, ' was recorded. The present indications are for cold and sfoimy weather generally, rain in most parts, and snow on the higher levels; The barometer will probably rise very hign in the next two days, and strong southerly winds will prevail everywhere.;
Mr J C. Boddington reports that the rainfali'fegigtered'' 'at the. Upper Plain for the 24 hours preceding 9 a.ra.ifcn Saturday was 35 -points. ...'
