In the £lO Gun Club match, fired on Thursday afternoon, there were twenty-nine competitors from all parts of the district. The finishes were very Hose and exciting, and resulted as follows: -A. Hodge, possible, 15, 1; J. G. Oates, 14, 2. Eleven others, 13, divided the tbiid prize.
The Carterton traders beat the butchers and bakers at football by nine points to six. The losers piid for a dinner, which was held at the Marquis of Normanby Hotel last evening.
The Foresters defeated the Druids at cards by 33 games to 31 in the Frieridlv Societies' Card Tournament cn Wednesday evening.
The members of th? Hinemoa Ladies' Hockey team held a most sacessful dance in the ClareviUe Hail last evening.
