GREYTOWN.
Home malicious person haa been again busy laying poiann for dogs. Mr Thompson, stationmaster, lost a valuable retriever, and Mr Raison also had one of his dogs poisoned on Wednesday night. Pneumonia seems pretty rife in Greytown this season. The youngest child of Mr P. Rogers, Club Hotel, is dangerously ill, and another resident, Mr T. Groube, I hear, is also laid up with the sams complaint.
Mr Nottage, the Government Fruit Expert, gave a practical demonstration on spraying and pruning fruit trees in Mr Bouzaid's orchard on Thursday afternoon. Only a moderate attendance of orchardisis turned up, but those who put in an appearance received an instructive lesson in dealing with both- old and • young trees.
The Kia , Toa Hockey team had their photos taken on Thursday by Mr Winzanburg, together with the Hughes Shield, the Barton Cup, and thy Age Cup. Thi? is the seventh year this Club has gone through without a defeat.
