A GREAI FUNEiAL.
On Wednesday the body of the late Fatner O'Meara was brought down to FeilJing from Auckland. A number of mournerß met the train and followed the hearae ,to St. Bridgets Church At half-past tun yesterday raurning solema Requiem
Mass was held, at which were present all the cl rgy who have arrived m Feilding to pay a last tribute of respect to the deceased priest, and numbers of people from all parts of tne district At noon the cortege left the ci'a cb for the Feilding Ceuietery. It was fully ami le long, an 1 was. fully indicative of the very general esteem in which the deceased was h?ld f not only, byiths members of bis own church, but by those of other denominations. Among those present it the aer vice were The Vicar-General, Monsignor O'Shea; Monsignor Devoy; the Father Provincitl, Father Regault, Fathers McKenna, Buwdtn, Power, Cos tell), Le Cioix, O'Dwyer, Hurley, Peebles, Lan«, Murray, and others. Numerous floral tributes were sent, whilst the expressions of genuine regret have been general throughout the district, deceased Joeing recognised as a kindly and sympathetic gentleman with the interests of everyone at heart.
