the ladies' championship. i Semi-finals. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHUKCH, Last Night. The weather was mild and genial this morning, when the semi-finals of the New Zealand Ladies' Uolf Championship were fought out. A stiff nor'-easter was again blowing. The result of the play leaves Miss Collins, Wellington, and Mies Wray, Manawatu, to fight out the Championship to-morrow afternoon. Following were the results: — Miss Collins, Wellington, beat Miss Ashwell, Timaru, by 3 up and 2 to play. Miss Wray, Manawatu, beat Miss Bell, Wellington, 7 up and 5 to play. The driving competition was won by Miss Christie, I69jyards; Miss Ashwell, 167 yards, being aecond, and Mrs Buckley, 165 yards, third. In the approaching and putting competition, two balls had to be played, one over the bunker. The competition was won by Miss D. Anderson in live. But nine competitors tied for second place with six each, and the second prize will be played for by these to-morrow. The competitors coming second were Miss Knubley, Mrs Innes, Miss Theomin, Mrs Warne, Miss Lewis, Miss Wilnon, Mra Handyaide, and Miss C. Gorrie.
