BEET SUGAR.
A good deal of attention is being devoted in various parts of New Zealand just now to the beet sugar mdustry. The Government is offering a substantial bonus for the ..production of sugar from beet, and Wanganui, among other districts, intends competing for the bonus. Wiry should not Masterton put in its claim? The district is admirably adapted to the cultivation of beet, and there seems no reason why a profitable industry should not be established. Will some enterprising settler take the initiative in the matter ?
