LOWER TAUERU.
Mr W. B. Ingrain, who is wellknown in Masterton, took, possession of the Lower Taueru Hotel today. His friends will, lam sure, wish him success in his venture. The recent benefit concert in aid of the Jimmison family has resulted in a sum of about £l6 being available for the bereft ones. Lambing is now in progress on all the stations hereabouts. The weather is fine and mild, and the prospects, are most encouraging. * The ladies of Taueru purpose holding a dance in the Taueru Hall on Friday, September 2nd. The boy scout movement has taken on well here, and several recruits have joined the "Wild Cat" Patrol lately. The boys are at present without uniforms, but I understand an effort is to be made to iaise the necessary funds.
