THE PRESIDENT RESIGNS. (Received Last Night, 10.5 o'clock.) MANAGUA, August 22. President Madriz has resigned, and fled with his family to Corinto, after nominating Jose Estrada, the insurgent's brother, as his successor. Meanwhile the insurgent army, which was pursuing him, is nearing Managua.
INSURGENTS' VICTORIES. (Received August 23, 12.12 a.m.) MANAGUA, August 22. The report of the victory of Estrada's insurgent troops is confirmed at Washington. The tumoil at Managua amounts to a panic.
