THE SHEARERS' DISPUTE.

(To the Editor)

Sir,—Will you allow me space in your paper to reply to the letter of the Bth inst., signed "Bush," re the Shearers' Dispute. "Bush" said that the average shearer could shear one hundred and twenty sheep per day. I question whtfhir "Bush" or any of hia saplings, could do eighty, arid that is only tw>thirds. "Bush" &aiJ that shearirg is unskilled labour. If so, why do the sheep farmers want the Shearers Union t.) put one learner to every five shearers? If scaring has !o be learned it is skilled labour. Skilled labour or unskilled is always worth the cauitalista money. "Bush" said that he is only a small farmer. I think he must be. His farm must consist of a box of bets and a few blind sheep, titu-tted behind a tig stump up a I'ux.Yi ailey way.—lam, eic , RATA.
