SHEARERS AND SHED HANDS.

The question of the rate of pay for shearers fortunately will not affect shearing operations in the Wairarapa to any great extent. "Most of: theempJoyera in this district have conceded the £1 per hundred that has been asked. Indeed, this has been the ruling rate, for Borne years. Tha attempt to bring shed "hands unde* an award is, however, what KipYwg would term "another story." The demand, made by the shearers in this connection is somewhat unrearonable, and, although the Arbitration Court may be called upon to adjudicate, the protest will be bo strong that it ia highly improbable an award will be made .which will affect shearing operations this season.
