RED STAR FOOTBALL CLUB.
ANNUAL DANCE. The annual dance of the Red Star Football Club was held in the Drill Hall last evening, and was a decided success, there being over one hundred couples present* './ An' excellent programme bad been drawn up, and the function was voted to be one of the most successful held in the history of the Club. This satisfactory state of affairs waa due to the untiring efforts of the ladies' committee, consisting of Mesdames J. Welch, president, Nellie Miller, Bert Welch, C. Corbett, J. Scorrar, 8., Iveson, E. Welch, Misses Williams, Minnie O'Leary, I. Finny Miller, Mo Thompson; of the patron of the Club, Mr E. Welch; of the general committee, composed of Messrs Joe Corbett, Bert Welch, R. Ward, A. Miller, L. Welch, R. Smith, T. Hoar, J. Brown, G. Ward; and of the joint secretaries, Messrs C. Corbett and B. Iveson, who capably filled the position. The music waa supplied by Mr F. McKenzie, extras being played Msses N. O'Leary and Hogg, T. Wrigley, and R. Mcintosh. Messrs C. Corbett, Bert Welch, and W. Hope ably > carried out the duties of M'a.C. An excellent supper was provided by the ladies' committee. During the evening-' Mr E. Welch presented Mr Bert Welch with a gold medal donated by Mr Claude Corbett for the beat for m'aid, in the senior fifteen, and which -had been balloited for that evening by the members of the team j resent. Mr Corbett had, said Mr Welch promised another gold medal next season for the best back ia the senior team. -
