WELLINGTON, August 11. The Rev. D. C. Bates's summary and forecast are as fellows : The barometer has continued falling steadily in the south, but remains very high in trie north/ The weather has been generally hazy but showery on the west coast of the fa'outh ißland on Wednesday night. Northerly windj have freshened in the South island, but have been light and variable in the* North." Present indications are for stormy and wet weather shortly southwards df New Plymouth and Napier, with northerly winds strong to gale. Hazy conditionms are probable in the •north,:: with moderate to strong, east * erly winds. The barometer will probably talk ,evervyhere r and slowly in the north. , V.'''
