Mr Robert E. Hornblow, proprietor of the Mangaweka Settler, was a visitor to Maeterton yesterday.
The Masterton School Committee jhas confirmedthe appointment of Miss I Bland as an assistant at the Masterton District High School. Mr John Anderson, a well-known resident of Pahiatua, who has been in Napier for three or four weeks, has greatly improved in health, much to the satisfaction of his many friends.
The friends of Mr Robert (Keltie),:Smith, of Onslow Park, Pahia-1 tua. will be pleased to know that j he has sufficiently recovered from j his recent severe illness to be able to get about again. Mr Smith was m Masterton yesterday. A weeding which created a *ood deal of local interest was celebrated at tbe Methodist Church, Carterton, yesterday afternoon, when Emily, youngest daughter of Mr G. Butler, of that town, was married to Her. Bert, eldest son of Mr G. Andrews, of Wellington. The Rev. C. H. Standage performed the ceremony in the presence of a large gathering of relatives and friends, and are-, ception was held later at the resii dencu of the bride's parents. Mr I and Mrs Andrews will spend their j honeymoon north, and afterwards reside in Carterton. v
