EARTHQUAKE SHOCKS.
FELT IN SOUTH ISLAND.

NELSON, August 8.
Two strong shocks of earthquake, testing fiie seconds, and closely following each other, were felt here at 2.15 p.m. to-day. CHKISTCHURCH, August 8. There was a sharp shock of earthquake at Hanmer at 2.12 p.m. tc-day. A slight shack was felt in Christchurch at about the same time.
