METEOROLOGICAL.
WEATHER FORECAST,
By Telegraph—Press Association, WELLINGTON, August 8.
Rev. D. C. Bates' and forecast are as follows —Rain has fallen in most parts of the country, and conditions have been stormy and changeable generally, northerly windj givng place to southerlies on Sunday evening. The barometer commenced to rise at the Bluff on Saiurday night. Present indications are for strong southerly winds generally, but especially northward of Cape Campbell atd Farewell Spit. Unsettled and showery weather is rrobable generally and heavy rain on the east coast of the North Island The barometer will probably be vary unsteady, rising in the South for a short time and falling in the North.
Mr J. C. Boddington reports that the rainfall registered at the Upper Plain for the 24 hours preceding 9 a.m. on Saturday was 2 points, on Sunday 2 points, and on Monday IS points.
