A sparii exploded petrol on the unfortunate submarine Ai at Ports mouth Dock.

Two officers and five men were burnt and overcome by fumes, and were unconscious for a long time. The coxswain was blown out of the hatchway, and shot sixteen feet in the air. One of his legs was broken. MEN RECOVERING.

Received August 8, 11.40 p.m. LONDON, August 8.

The injured men have recovered consciousness, and are progressing satisfactorily.
