Messrs Abraham and William?, Ltd., report on their Masterton Stock Sale held yesterday aa follows'-^We submitted a large yarding of sheep and a medium one of cattle to a large attendance of the public. For a particularly nice line of ewes in lamb offered on account of Mr George Sievers, of Clareville, we made 21s 9d. Quotations:—Fat wethers, 16s 6d, 17s 4d, to 17s Id; fat ewes 17s Id; 2 and 4-tooth wethers. I6s Id; fat and forward ewes and wethers, 10s 6d; hoggets 8s 6d, 9s, 10s Id, Us 9d to 12s 2d; ewes in lamb, best 19s 9d to 21s 9d, others, 10s to 15a. Fat heifers, £4 12s to £5 53; empty heifers, £4 Is; empty cows, £3, yearling steers, £2 10s; yearling heifers, £2 lis; cows in calf, £6 10s; springing heifers, £4 10a; geldings, £10; mare and foal, £l2; dogs offered on account of the estate of the late Fin.'ay McKenzie realised from £3 to £7. We experienced good competition for ail classes- of stock, and have to report a good sale at good values. Quotations:—Good mixed aged ewea in lamb, 14s 3d, 15a 4d, .to 17s 6d; sound mouth ewes in lamb, 10s 4d to lis 3d; full mouth ewes in lamb, 5s 4d to s 3d; forward wethers, 16s; fat sheep, los; good nojrgets, 10a 3d to J2a 7d; medium hoggets, 8s 7d to 9s; small hoggets, 53 to 7s la. Forward bullocks, £5 17s 6d; 2-vear steers, £4 3s; good weaner steers. £2 7a 6d to £2 lis; Mixed weaners, 39s 6d to £2 6s 6d; good weaner heifers, £2 8s to £2 I7s; springing caws, £4 15a to £6 ss; cows backward in calf, £2 16s to £3 153;. cows and calves, £3 ss, to £5 4s 63; empty cows, £3 2s to £4 lis; heifers in calf, £3 5s t.i £4. Trie dairy cows sold on behalf of Mr G. H. Brown made from £5 to £G 103.
At Woodville on Monday, Ist inst., we had a lair yarding of sheep and eatlla and disposed of the bulk of the entry at good vaiues. Quotations : 2-tooth ewes in lamb, 18s Sd: sound mouth ewes in lamb. 12s 6d; fat ewea 13s 9.1 to 15s; fat wethers, 16s 8d; mixed hoggets, 11a 6d; 20month stsers, £2 10s; empty cows £1 15a.
