WOUDLANDS HUNT CLUB MEETING. By Telegraph—Press Association. PAHIATUA, Augusts The annusl steeplechase meeting of the Woodlands Hunt Club was held on the Pahiatua racecourse in fine weather, there being a good attendance. Twelve tookmakers licensed at £7 each were present. Results:— Maiden Flat—Seaweed 1, Beach 2, Himitangi 3. Also ran —Handy Jack, Wild Rose, Calluna, Harata, Lady Scott, Waimoumou, Duchess. Won all the way. Time lmin, 1 5-4 sec.
Hunt-rs' Hurdles.—Gargoyle 1, Royal Maid 2, Watershed 3. Also ran—Kaierin, Tobar Morey, Pathtinder. Won by three lengths.. Time, 3min 2svc. A protest against the winner for having ran at an unregistered meeting was upheld, and Royal Maid was placed first and Watershed second.
Woodlands Hunt Steeplechase.— Miss Hippo 1, Flamingo 2, Garrison 3. Also ran—Vivace, Hinipou, Maus er Ballet, Heberer. Won comfortably after a good race. Time, smin, 32sec.
Members' Flat Race. —Don Carlos 1, b'arronite 2, Rapids 3. Also ran—Lord Ullin, Pukerua, Seosation, Lady J. Lord Ullin fell close to the finish. Time 2 mio 7 4 ssec. Hack Flat Handicap.—Seaweed 1, Miss Sylvia 2, Beach 3. Also ran— Lord Irwel), Kakanui, Passive. Lord Irwell fell and broke his back, having to be destroyed. Time lmin 29sec. , Kumeroa Steeplechase —Commodore 1, Corroboree 2, Flamingo 3. Also ran.—Lord Ullin, Pebnle, Hipere, Whaffor, Enchanters Won easily by several lengths. Time smin 7sec. Hunters' Flat Handicap. —llimitangi 1, Royal Maid 2, Tabar morey 3. Also ran.—Flintgun, Vivace, Garrison, Pathfinder, Pukerua, Watershed, Porera. Won by a length. Time 3min 11 4-osec.
At the Woodlands Hunt Club meet- I ing, which was held yesterday at ! Pahiatna, there was an attendance of over 400 people. The secretary, Mr A. Weston, assisted by Mr Drew, secretary of tha Kacing Club, had all things well in hand, and all racea were pot away to time. Fourteen d bookmakers were on the ground, and they seemed <o h<? dnirg good business The refreshment booth and tenmerance bar were in the hands of Mr A. East and he received great credit for the excellent lurcheon hs provided. The Lord Irvvell, owned by Mr S. C.
