ENGINE DERAILED. ' GUARD KILLED. Received August 2; 10 a.m. PERTH, A'ugust 2. Owing to a washaway on the Karridale line, a timber train was derailed and the engine precipitated over an embankment.
A fuel truck was smashed, and the emrty trucks piled ot:e on top of the other.
The guard, John Starratt, was killed, but the criver and fireman es-
caped uninjured,
