METEOROLOGICAL.
WEATHER FORECAST By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON, Ju'y 22.
The Rev. D. C. Bates' summary and forecast are—"Jhe barometer has fallen everywhere, and especially in the north, and /heavy rain has been experienced northwaid of Kaikoura and Hokitika. Strong southeasterly winds have oredominated. Present indications are for very heavy rain in the North Island and northern part of the South Island, with floods in many parts and cloudy and unsettled weather generally. A sharp rise in the barometric pressure will probably take place to-morrow, in the north, but a further fall is probable in the south, where th". glass is very unsteady, irtrorig southerly winas will probably prevail.
Mr J. C. Boddington reports thet the rainfall registered at Una Upper Plain for th ,J 24 hours preceding 9 a.m. on Friday was 45 points.
