ORGANISED LABOUR.
THE SHEARERS' CASE. By Telegraph—Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, July 17, A meeting convened by representatives of organised labour was held in Cathedral Square this afternoon to protest against the attiude of Mr Justice Sim in the Shearers Case. Ttie speakers were Messrs A. D. Hart, F. R. Cook, A. Patterson, J. Campbell and L. R. Wihon. All made strorg statements imputing unfairness and prejudice on the part of the President of the Council, and all alleging that he prejudiced the shsarers oe from newspaper repott?.
The following motion was carried unanimously, "That this meeting express its indignation and protest against the extraordinary action of Mr Justice Sim in the recent shearers dispute before the Arbitration Court, and views with serious alarm his coercive attitude towards the Union; also his prejudicing the case from prers reportp, and also his most in'ul'ir.g references to the ahearers' represent*.! ves." Mr Hart, who presided, and other speakers emphatically denied that the sheaf j?a' Un'on had anything to do with promoting the meeting.
