• The death is reported of Mr David McDougall, who has been associated with B'uff from its very early days. After eight years of earnest and strenuous work. Archdeacon Cole has asktd the Bishop to accept his resignation as head of the Taranaki Archdeaconry, owing principally to the increasing work in connection with his position as Superintendent of the Home Mission of the Diocese. The Hod. T. Mackenzie reached Hawera last evening, where he will officially open the local A. and P. Association's winter show. 1 Mr Geo. N. Goldie, of Wellington, who has been secretary of the New Zeal ud Lawn Tennis Association for j several years, has resigned the position owing to ill-health. The Mayor of Wellington, Mr Wilford, is to be entertained at Brooklyn on August Ist by the local committee which was formed to support him at the Mayoral election. Mrs Wilford, who is on her return journey from England, will be present."-
