MASTERTON A. AND P. ASSOCIATION.
MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the General Committee of the Masterton Agri - cultural and Pastoral Association wns held on Saturday afternoon, Mr G, C. Summerell, presiding over a large attendancs of members. Mr W. E. Bid will, of Kototawai, Lower Valley, wrote that he did not desire to stand again as a member of the General Committee as he was unable to attend the westings of the committee. Mr Bidwill wished the Association every success in the future, and he would do all in his power to assist the Association to occupy the position as an institution second only to the Manawatu A. and P. Association. Members sincerely regieUed Mr Bidwill's decision, and referred in eulogistic terms to the valuable assistance he had rendered I the Association. It was unanimously hoped that Mr Bidwill would offar his | services again on the Committee, the chairman stating that he ciulJ write privately to Mr Bidwill bringing under his notice the unanimous wish of the members of tha Committee that he would offer hi 3 valuable
services again. Messrs J. B. Emmett, G, Sellar, B. Iveson and A, H. Vile were appointed scrutineers in connection with the annual meeting. A motion of condolence was passed in connection with tha death ol the lata Mr J. Paytcn, an old member of the Association. Ihe tender of G. Leathwick at 9?, was accepted for cutting and removig firewood at the new showgrounds at Solway.
