DISPUTES ON THE VOYAGE
PROPOSED CONCILIATION BOARD. LONDON, July 8. The committee of the National Sailors and Firemen's Union has asked the shipowners to co-operate in the formation of a Conciliation Board to deal with the various demands, including a sliding sc;le of wages, a uniform rate of wagei to all ports, a minimum living wage, and the anpointruent of a seamen's representative to witness the signing of articles of agreement, in order to prevent disputes during a oyage.
