(Half-back.) "Tip" Jury, who has represented Greytown in the Wairarapa representatives lor a number of seasons past has decided to retire from the game. Greytown match, while the juriior fixture, Red Star v. Liberals, was in charge or' a retired senior player. In the latter cabe there was a considerable amount of dissatisfaction in regard to two triea awarded to the winners. The same old tale -at the last meeting of the Wellington Rugby Union it was decided that August 20th is to be suggested to the Wairarapa Union as a suitable date for its representative team to blay a B team at Wellington. And this after Wellington A team only defeating Wairarapa last year by 14 to 11, when the Balcks had anything but the best of the game. The credit balance of the Wairarapa Rugby Union at its last meeting was reported to be £lll lis lOd, which is considered not bad when taking into account that it this time last year there was a substantial debit balance. The Wairarapa Union has decided that all travelling be instructed to carry a ball. The American Universities team will be in New Zealand from July 16th to July 30th. . P. Carmichael, the famous "Wallaby" full-back has retired from Rugby, as it interferes with his business. Dates of the Wellington representative matches for the season were decided upon as follows:—August 20th: Against Auckland, at Auckland; August 25th: Against Taranaki, at New Plymouth; August 27th: Agaiust Wanganui, at Wanganui; September 3rd: Against Southland, at Wellington; September 10th: Against Otago, at Wellington; September 17th: Against Canterbury, at Wellington.
