THE SHEARERS' DISPUTE.
[ There is every prospect of the shearers' dispute being dealt with by a Dominion Conference. Arrangements are in progress by which it is hoped a conference may be brought about. The meeting will prooably be in Christchurch at an early date. The Canterbury Shearers' Union and the Sheep Owners' Union are to have a hearing before Mr Justice Sims, Judge of the Arbitration Court in Christchurch, on the 14th inst. The case for the sheep owners has been made public, and to-day we publish the shearers' side of the question, as set forth in a letter frjm the Union secretary to the Minister for Labour. Although the points of divergence between the parties are . important, there is nothing but what can be amicably settled if it is give and take on each side. It is important the difference between the parties should be promptly settled, in view of the fact that the shearing season is upon us.
