PROPOSAL TO RUN TRAM LINE. By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, July 4. A Taihape case, lasting three days, before the S.M., haa now, been finished. Great interest was shown in tfce case by buah farmers and sawmillers. The Egmont Box Company, it appears, applied for an order for the right to take a tram through property, including the homestead of David Wilkie, of Ohutu. The question at issue was whether there was any other practicable or suitable route except through the homestead. The tram line exists already along the road, but the plaintiffs claim that the route is not suitable. On the other hand the defendant contended that it was impossible to work the farm if the orders were granted. '

After hearing expert evidence on both sides, the Magistrate refused an order.
