WHAT MAY HAVE HAPPENED
TO THE WARATAH.
Received July, 5, 12.40 a.m. MELBOURNE, July 4
The steamer Indrani had a rough trip. The waves broke over her like a submerged reef, and burst with exceptional fury. She met with an accident which is believed to be the rause of the Waratah's loss, for at one time she became immersed, and rnee uncertainly, with the covers of No. 2 Hold washed off, and tons of water pouring it'to the hull. Only after a heroic struggle - were the hatches replaced. A portion of the cargo was damaged.
